The newly elected NLC president, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, made this known on Tuesday, May 26, in a speech geared towards encouraging the incoming administration to adopt policies that are people friendly.

Comerade Wabba, lamented the current lingering fuel scarcity in the country, noting that the development among others called for diversification of the Nigerian economy.

He tasked the incoming administration to put genuine efforts in revitalizing the economy which he alleged had witnessed artificial growth.


Wabba identified corruption as the bane of Nigeria’s problem and urged the government to take steps to bring down corruption and reduce waste in the system.

He also called for Buhari to priorities the welfare of workers who he said were suffering from poor remuneration and uncertainty in the workplace.

Meanwhile, all the key stakeholders in the petroleum industry have reached an agreement with the Federal Government to put an immediate end to the protracted fuel crisis. After a closed-door meeting convened by the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources at the National Assembly yesterday, the oil marketers agreed to commence lifting of petroleum products.
