Buhari Vows To Eliminate Corruption And Create Jobs - MUST READ

Muhammadu Buhari, the president-elect, on April 8 once again restated his commitment to fighting corruption in the country. Speaking on Wednesday in Yola, Adamawa state, Buhari claimed that he would not allow the embezzlement of Nigeria’s resources, Leadership reports.

The All Progressives Congress politician vowed to focus on dealing with corruption, insecurity and unemployment. Additionally, he stressed that special priority should be given to education.

The president-elect lamented that the years of decay had resulted in massive unemployment. To create jobs, Buhari said he would invest in agriculture and exploit the mineral resources sector.

He added that Nigeria was endowed with human and natural resources “but unfortunately the resources were mismanaged and squandered, leading to the present situation in the land”.

The politician noted, however, that with the change of the administration, Nigeria’s resources would be distributed fairly.

“We will run a transparent government and in doing so I will not favour my family.”

Meanwhile the Peoples Democratic Party yesterday accused the presidential election winner and his party of “instigating division, engineering crisis and heightening tension in the polity”.

The PDP also lamented that the APC stayed indifferent to the crisis currently rocking Ekiti state and linked with the possible impeachment of Governor Ayodele Fayose.
