Oscar Pistorius sentenced to 5 years in Prison

After being charged with manslaughter for the February 14th killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, Judge Thokozile Masipa today announced a punishment of 5 years imprisonment after finding him guilty. Pistorius was acquitted of murder and had testified during his murder trial that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder. The defence asked for a house arrest while the prosecution asked for 10-5 years

According to legal experts he may not spend all 5 years in prison as the commissioner of correctional services could convert the sentencing to community service at anytime they deem fit. He was calm through and after the sentencing and it's unsure if he would appeal. All the drama expected was absent. No words, no reactions as the judge handed the sentence.
