The road project, which is part of the Lower Usman Dam project, part II, will run through Bwari to Gurara. According to Onolememen, the road project is part of the network of roads planned by Federal Government to decongest Abuja city of traffic. The new road, according to the Minister, is expected to run from Dutse Alhaji area of Abuja and will give access the north-western part of the country through Kaduna as well as provide double advantage of creating easy access to the lower Usman Dam project within the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The road will be built at the cost of N28 billion, with a completion period of 24 months. The Minister of FCT also said the other project approved by FEC was the provision of water facilities in the Asokoro Extension of the Federal Capital Territory in the sum of N1.7bn.
