How I Escaped Death – Ex-President Obasanjo Reveals
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has disclosed how the government of former head of state, General Sani Abacha planned to kill him with an injection while in prison, but God protected him.
He also disclosed how his late friend, General Shehu Yar’ Adua was killed in a Port Harcourt prison.

According to Obasanjo, he was serving his 15 year jail term in Jos before he was transferred to the Yola prison but on the day he was to depart for Yola, he was made to meet a doctor sent to kill him gradually with a lethal injection, but he escaped the trap.
Heavy Fire Burns Down Church, Market In Badagry, Lagos
Millions of naira worth of goods got destroyed yesterday July 25, after the popular sawmill at Ibereko in Badagry, Lagos was engulfed in fire. Although no life was lost in the incident, the inferno also razed parts of the St. Anthony Catholic church beside the plank market.
As at the time our reporter got to the scene, Fire Fighters from the Lagos State Fire Service, Badagry Station, were seen struggling to put out the raging flames as it continued to spread.
A resident in the area who simply gave his name as Hamed said: “We just discovered smoke was coming out of some of the planks and before we knew it, ‘Thinner’ which is a chemical we use to make paint very thick exploded and the whole area went up in flames”.

Wonders! Dead Woman Withraws All Her Savings, 4 years After She Was Buried
Mrs Cordelia Iwegbuna Idowu Okocha was 50 when she died of breast cancer, on August 7, 2004, and was buried in September 2004. However, 4 years after her death, she ‘visited’ her bank and withdrew more than N527,500 from her savings account in a first generation bank (name withheld).
The statement of account of the dead woman indicated that she withdrew N500,000 by ‘self ’ on February 19, 2008. On February 28, 2008, she made another withdrawal of N27,500 by ‘self’. She made all the withdrawals at the Awolowo Road branch of the bank.
She was survived by her only child, Chukwudi Uche Okocha who was 17 at the time of his mother's death. He said:

The 3 Policemen Who Assaulted 8-Month Old Pregnant Woman Are Now Facing Judgement
Three policemen who assaulted an eight-month pregnant woman in Lagos are currently undergoing orderly room trial, the Lagos State Police Command said on Saturday.
The woman was said to have lost the prematurely born baby as a result of reported breathing difficulty arising from the detachment of the umbilical cord from the mother while in the womb.
The command’s spokesman, Kenneth Nwosu, who made the disclosure, said they were arrested on Tuesday after a complaint about their alleged human rights infringement.He said the law would take its cause on any member of the police force that committed any crime, particularly human rights abuse but did not disclose the names of the policemen.

The disagreement in the House of Representatives over sharing of position of principal officers, has been resolved, Rep. Pally Iriase (Edo-APC) has said.
