Six children have drowned and nine others rescued as a fibre boat ran into a canoe at Ojo area of Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
The boat was said to be conveying 14 children and the driver when the tragedy occurred around 9:00 am on Wednesday. The six children are still missing as others were rescued.
General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed the incident. He said the tragedy occurred at Irewe area when a fibre boat collided with a canoe conveying 14 children to their destination.
