Ebola Cases On The Increase In Sierra Leone & Guinea- WHO

The World Health Organisation (WHO), confirmed on Tuesday that the Ebola virus is still raging in Sierra Leone and Guinea. Bruce Aylward, WHO Special Representative for Ebola in Geneva, told a technical briefing attended by health ministers that there were 36 new cases in the past week, which is four times as many cases as the week before. Aylward said the findings were an indication that the virus would not go quietly and it would take painstaking efforts.

Chibok girls now living in Bunkers - Borno Governor says

The Governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima says there are indications that missing Chibok girls might be living in Bunkers in Sambisa Forest with Boko Haram members. He called on the military to liberate the girls as they carry out their operations in the forest. The Governor gave the indication in a paper he wrote and was presented by the Secretary, Borno Elders Forum, Dr Bulama Mala at a two-day post election conference on security and governance, organized  the GubioSavanna Centre, a Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, in Abuja yesterday May 19th. Chibok girls held in bunkers- Governor Shettima

Borno State governor, Kassim Shettima, Tuesday, said there was every tendency that the female students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, abducted by members of the Boko Haram sect, in April 2014, were being held in bunkers, inside Sambisa Forest.

Shettima, spoke in Abuja, while presenting a paper at a two-day post election conference on security and governance, organized by the Savanna Centre, a Non Governmental Organisation, NGO.

Rescued women impregnated by Boko Haram say they don't want to keep their pregnancies

A relief official in one of the Internally Displace Persons camp, Hadiza Waziri, says most of the rescued women from Sambisa forest who are pregnant with children of Boko Haram members say they don't want keep their pregnancies. Hadiza said this to the New York Times crew who visited their camp recently
"We are going to have another set of Boko Haram. Most of these women now, they don't want these pregnancies. You can't love the child" - she said.
