Nigerian Senate asks FG to drag South African king before ICC
The Senate on Wednesday urged President Goodluck Jonathan to recall the Nigeria’s High Commissioner in South Africa, Ambassador S.S Yusuf, to protest the current xenophobic attacks on Nigerians by some indigenes of the Southern African country.
The upper legislators stated this as part of their resolutions on a motion moved on behalf of all members by the Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma – Egba.

The sacked Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba CFR (Rtd) has handed over the leadership of Nigerian Police Force to Ag. IGP Solomon Arase. President Jonathan sacked Suleiman Abba on Tuesday and appointed DIG Solomon Arase as Acting IGP with immediate effect.

Chad’s Troops Rescue 43 Boko Haram Child Soldiers in Nigeria
Azem Agouna, Chadian Army Spokesman, said on Wednesday that they have repatriated 43 children, who had been kidnapped by Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram and forced to become child soldiers.
He said in N’djamena that the children, who are aged 12 and older and are Chadian nationals, were found in the Nigerian town of Damasak, in North-Eastern Borno.

Jonathan to hand over power on May 29th, not May 28th - FG
Minister of Information, Senator Patricia Akwashiki says president Jonathan will hand over power on May 29th as against May 28th date earlier reported. Speaking after the Federal Executive Council meeting today April 22nd, Akwashiki said May 28th will be the last day ministries and parastatals will do their handing over of briefs while the President will hand over power to Buhari on May 29th
"In the council today, the discussion was still centered on transition. I have to make a little clarification because some people thought I said May 28 will be handover date. I never said that. I said May 28 will be the last day that we will have our handing over briefs by ministries and parastatals. I said from the 28th of this month to that date has been given to departments and ministries to submit their hand over notes.
OPC threatens South Africa - Stop the attacks or face our wrath
The Oodua People's Congress, OPC. has given a 48-hour ultimatum to the South African government to stop the xenophobic attacks going on their country or incur the wrath of the group. NNPC starts refunding $1.48billion to federation account – Alison Madueke
The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, on Wednesday disclosed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has started refunding $1.48bn into the Federation Account as recommended by an audit firm, PriceWaterHouse Coopers.
She however did not disclose how much has so far been refunded by the corporation.
