Elections To Hold In 8 Out Of 27 LGAs In Borno

Resident Electoral Commissioner for Borno State, Samuel Madaki on Friday, March 27, 2015 announced that the presidential and National Assembly elections to be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 would be conducted in only 8 out of 27 local government areas of the state which were safe enough for the exercise.

Speaking to newsmen as regards preparedness for the pols, Madaki said the commission had classified the state into three zones based on safety, safe, unsafe (high risk) and relatively safe.

INEC postpones election in 7 federal constituencies in Jigawa state

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) in Jigawa state has announced the postponement of election in seven out of eleven federal constituencies. According to the resident electoral commissioner in the state, Alhaji Halliru Aliyu Tambawel, the postponement was as a result of lack of sensitive materials including ballot papers and results sheets from the Central Bank of Nigeria to be used for the elections.
