Scam! EFCC Arrested Two Guys For €61,500 Facebook Scam

Read statement released by EFCC below;

“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned two suspected fraudsters, Gabriel Osereme Xavi (a.k.a. Collins Page) and Aikhaituamen Best Junior Cyril, before Justice E.F. Ikponmwen of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin, on charges bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.
While Xavi was slammed with a 12-count charge, Aikhaituamen was docked on 6-count charge. 

The duo however pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were read to them on November 21, 2014. The accused persons are alleged to have fleeced a 49 year-old Belgian nurse, Goryczka Janina, whom they met on Facebook, of the sum of fifty five thousand, five hundred Euros.

Time Magazine Refers To Abducted Chibok Girls as "Boko Haram Girls"

So Time magazine today revealed the names of those nominated for Person of the Year 2014, and the missing Chibok girls were nominated, which is a great. The only problem is that Time referred to the girls as "Boko Haram girls" in their list.

Senators Begin Secret Moves To Impeach Jonathan

Things are not the same anymore, it is now a case of 'enough is enough' in the political space. Some PDP senators on Monday started impeachment moves against President Goodluck Jonathan over what they have described as the high level of impunity and corruption being condoned by his Presidency. Investigations revealed that the PDP senators had started compiling Jonathan's impeachable offences.

“I was personally consulted this evening over the issue and I also cross-checked from my colleagues who also told me that they had been contacted. “The grouse of the lawmakers, according to the person that contacted me, was that the last week Thursday’s invasion of the National Assembly by the police was carelessly handled by the Jonathan administration. “From the look of things, the proceedings [to impeach Jonathan] will start on Tuesday because some signatures had been collected already.” An APC Senator disclosed this development to Punch in Abuja on Monday. Another PDP senator, who craved anonymity, also confirmed the development to Punch, stating that it was certain that the President was not capable of superintending over a free and fair election in 2015. He said, “Our President is not in charge. We have seen that he had allowed the governors to hijack powers from him. He is just like a puppet and the earlier we act fast, the better for us.”

Below is a statement just sent in;

"I am dis2traught and devastated to hear of the recent allegation of r*pe brought against a relative of mine, Daniel Okereke (my brother). While it is a very difficult time for me, and my family; I feel the need to make clear my position, lest there be any doubt. R*pe is r*pe, regardless of who the face of the accused is.

Indeed, the irony is not lost on me. I have spent my lifelong career advocating and living my conviction that women around the world should be able to live free of violence, s*xual harassment or any form of abuse against their persons.

Actress Stella Damasus who is currently based in the United States of America with her partner, Daniel Ademinokan has raised alarm over her Facebook impersonators. She has however announced that she doesn’t operate any Facebook account, in a message on her Instagram page today, she wrote in a warning to her fans:

"Hey people. This is just to remind you all that I DO NOT HAVE A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT. Please note that anyone you see with the name STELLA DAMASUS on Facebook is definitely not me. I just heard that someone who is impersonating me has been collecting money from people claiming I have an orphanage. That is totally false. Again, I am not on FACEBOOK. God bless you all. Please spread."
