The Reason Why I won't remarry -Bianca Ojukwu

Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late former Biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and Nigeria Ambassador to Spain, married the Biafran warlord at the age of 22 ..Their union lasted for 23 years before his passing in 2011..In a new interview with Vanguard ,she revealed why she would not remarry.

Given that you are still very young, beautiful and as the famed American poet-Robert Frost said, you still have a long road to travel. Do you plan to remarry?

People marry I think not just because they need to come together, live together, raise family together, it is a rite of passage and I think I have fulfilled my part. Why I said that, is, I have gone through marriage, lived with what I consider a wonderful man who gave me 23 years of happiness, of fulfillment,  I literally felt I was the luckiest woman to have had a man who gave me utter dedication and, above all, wonderful children. So my pledge to him is that I will devote my life to taking care of our children, raising them properly, teaching them those ideals that he cherished and held very dear and trying to carry on his legacy. So I don’t have any compelling need to remarry and, in any case, my time is very limited; so I am trying to channel it properly towards raising my children.

Honestly, for now, I am not married. But definitely, I am going to get married very soon. I have a fiancee and wehave been together for close to two years now.

But you have children?
Yes, I have two beautiful daughters who are between ten and nine years. I have a family and I’m from a polygamous home. I have a responsibility as a father.

Show!! UNILAG Student Banned From Wearing Earphones

In Monday 17th of November circular, signed by UNILAG Dean of Student Affairs, Professor FB Akinsola, students were warned to stop using the accessory as from Monday the 24th of November 2014, or risk losing it.

The ban is however effective only in the College and premises of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

"This is to inform all students that with effect from Monday November 24, the use of earphones on College and LUTH premises will be prohibited," Akinsola said in the statement.

"While students are free to use earphones in the hosted, the College Authority will confiscate any earphone being used by students from the above date".

40 Illegal Miners In Ghana Dead As Another Gold Mining Pit Caves In

About 40 people mining without licenses in the Ghanaian town of Tiagbani are reported to have been trapped in the pit they were mining in.

According to a local Ghanaian radio station seven [7] of the unlicensed local miners were pulled out of the pit but died shortly afterwards. Another 33 are believed to be still trapped underground. The bodies of the those pulled out of the pit have been deposited at the district hospital for autopsy.

“They went to operate at their site but unfortunately the pit caved in on them. Rescuers are doing their best to dig out the dead bodies but at the moment the whole township is mourning,” the reporter for the radio station said.

Tiagbani is in the Talensi-Nabdam district of the Upper East Region, far from the traditionally-known gold mining sites in Ghana.

Main Reason Why People Leave Nigeria - Etcetera Writes

The traffic situation on Lagos Island this week has been atrocious. Out of necessity, I had reasons to be on the island everyday of the week. I had the most harrowing traffic experience on Tuesday. It was so bad that I had to wait in a pub till about 10pm when the roads became decongested. While in the pub, I was accosted by two gentlemen who introduced themselves as admirers of my work. We started a conversation and they told me about their intentions to check out of the country for good. I was curious to know why and they gave quite compelling reasons. These are some of the things they said.

“We are checking out while we still can. Someday Nigerians will realise that the Nigerian Dream is dead, and that they have been nothing but pawns and slaves to the ruling class. When that day comes, do you think the people in government are going to let them leave? Who will create the wealth for them to loot? Nigeria will soon be locked down under the pretense of something terror-related, and no one will be allowed to leave.
