Ebola vaccine to cost $100 each dose

World Health Organisation (WHO) has revealed to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) that the much anticipated Ebola vaccines will cost about $100 per dose. According to WHO, the $100 per dose price, which is said to have been heavily subsidised, will make about one million more of the drugs ready in 2015. As at Sunday, November 2, 2014, WHO has reported a total of 13,042 suspected cases and 4,818 deaths since the outbreak.

2 Feared Dead, 20 Injured in Akwa Ibom Stadium Stampede

According to NAN, two persons were feared dead and 20 others injured in a stampede at the entrance of Akwa Ibom International Stadium on Friday during its inauguration. The crowd control was a difficult task in spite of the road blocks mounted some kilometres away from the stadium.

Although the spectators got tickets to enable them access the 30, 000 capacity stadium, the crowd started thronging the stadium about five hours ahead of the scheduled time for the match.

Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Emem Bassey, told NAN that two
unconscious persons were taken to an undisclosed hospital.

“I was told that two persons have been taken to the hospital; these are perhaps people who were fighting at the gate in their bid to enter the stadium,” Dr. Bassey said.

2face Idibia's dad, Michael Idibia has finally been buried. It would be recalled that Mr. Michael Agbo Idibia died on August 23rd after much battle with cancer. He has however been buried yesterday at their hometown of Amufu Ejeba in Enumoga Ehaje, Okpokwu LGA of Benue State. The remains of Chief Idibia was conveyed in an ambulance.

It would be worthy to note that when the internationally acclaimed star, Tuface, alighted from a SUV, the chant and sound of Tubaba, Uja, Ino, Tuface rented the air from his kinsmen and old boys. Tuface was immediately ushered into a waiting room from the hands of his brethren by the security men.

So Sad! University of Abuja Female Student, Killed by Hit & Run Driver

A female student of the University of Abuja, identified simply as Afoke and pictured above, lost her life two hours ago after she was hit by a car in front of the permanent site along Airport road. According to eyewitness reports, the accident was as a result of the hit and run car being on high speed and lack of speed bumps in front of the campus.

Afoke had died on the spot and right now, barely 10 hours after her last tweet on earth, her remains are in a mortuary. Her project defence was even today. We are here one minute, the next we are gone! R.I.P

A bomb explosion rocked Azare town of Bauchi State today, killing scores of bank customers withdrawing money from an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) of the First Bank Nigeria PLC.

According to eyewitnesses, the blast occurred around 10:30am after an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) was sneaked into the bank premises and kept close to the major ATM machine. A medical officer working with the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Azare, told Channels Television that 18 bodies were brought to the mortuary while the 35 capacity female ward of the hospital was allocated to those brought with various degrees of injuries.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, detectives have begun investigation into the incident, with five suspects already arrested.
