Peter OKoye Open Up About why the makers of Olympic Milk choose him to be their brand ambassador instead of choosing him and his twin brother who have always sang and endorse brands together. Here is what Peter said during his inaugural speech;

“Music is like football. For example, if I play for Barcelona and I get endorsed by Nike, it doesn’t mean the whole Barcelona team has been endorsed. This is about me and not me and Paul.

“Among thousands or perhaps millions of people in the entertainment industry, I felt honoured to be chosen as the brand ambassador. The deal means a lot, not just to me but also to my fans. If a brand isn’t worth it I have nothing to do with such a brand. The fact that I am ready to work with this brand is an indication of its top quality,” he said.

Identified assailants have killed a 300-level student of the Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Physical Sciences‎ of the University of Benin, UNIBEN. The victim was identified as Gbenedio Ejiroghene. Ejiroghene was said to have been axed to death the NewsNigeria reports. The gruesome murder took place in the Ugbowo Campus of the institution on Friday at about 7 pm, when he was hit on the head.

The University’s spokesman, Barrister Harris Osarenren who confirmed the murder of the student, said the killing has been reported at the Ugbowo Police Station and that the body has been deposited at the mortuary of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH. He said investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances about the killing.

Fresh Attack - Boko Haram Abducts 30 Boys And Girls

According to a breaking news report on AFP, around 30 adolescents, some of them girls aged as young as 11, have been abducted in northeast Nigeria by suspected Boko Haram rebels. "The insurgents... grabbed young people, boys and girls, from our region," said Alhaji Shettima Maina, who is in charge of the Mafa village around 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state.

"They took all boys aged 13 and over... and all girls aged 11 and more. According to our information, 30 young people were abducted in the last two days."

Another village elder, Mallam Ashiekh Mustapha, confirmed the account. Both men said 17 people were also killed in recent days in a Boko Haram attack on the nearby village of Ndongo. Boko Haram, which has been waging a bloody insurgency since 2009, has been responsible for waves of attacks and abductions.

FG Set To Ban Commercial Motorcycles Nationwide

The use of motorcycles as commercial means of transport in Nigeria, popularly known as ‘Okada’ may soon be banned throughout the country. The proposal for the ban was made by the National Council on Transport after its annual conference in Enugu State and endorsed by the Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar.

A statement from the Federal Ministry of Transport on Saturday evening stated that the ban of commercial motorcycle was one of the measures proposed towards adequate provision of safety and secure transportation in Nigeria.

It said the recommendation was contained in a statement of the week long meeting which had in attendance all the state commissioners of transport, permanent secretaries, directors and officials in the federal and state ministries of transport across the country.

Woman Sets BF On Fire For Throwing Her Food Away

Police operatives in Clearwater command, Florida had arraigned a 33-year old woman identified as, Melissa Dawn Sellers and charged her with assault for reportedly putting her 42-year old boyfriend on fire because he threw her meat and spaghetti away in the wee hours of Wednesday, October 22, 2014.

33-year old Melissa Dawn Sellers who allegedly poured nail polish remover on her boyfriend and set him on fire in Florida. It was learnt that the attacker had poured nail polish remover on Carlos Ortiz Jr during a serious dispute between the duo emanating from her meat and spaghetti that Oritz poured away.

According to reports, Sellers set him on fire with a cigarette lighter which the duo had earlier used to smoke some cigarettes before the argument started. The two drank alcohol before the fire incident, police said. The man suffered burns to the face, chest and shoulders.
