RCCG Pastor Arrested For Alleged N5.1 Million Fraud

A Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor who heads Chapel of Triumph Parish, in Oworoshoki, Lagos, has been arraigned for an alleged N5.1 million fraud. Oderinde Oluwatosin, 50, is the accused, PM News reports.

He is said to have obtained over N5.1 million from two individuals to invest in an oil business, and promised to pay them back. However, he never fulfilled his promise, and the people he took the money from reported the matter to police. He has been charged with four counts of stealing, but has denied the charges. The case has been adjourned till October 31st.

New governor of Ekiti state Ayo Fayose has accused former governor Kayode Fayemi of spending a whooping N50million on beds in his and his wife's bedroom at the Ekiti State Govt House which they recently vacated. (one of the beds pictured above). The new governor claimed that between Fayemi and his wife, what was spent on their bedrooms, toilets and bathrooms will be in the region of N100m

Boko Haram: Respect Ceasefire Deal, Obama Warns Nigerian Government

The United States president, Barrack Obama, on Tuesday urged all the parties involved to implement the ceasefire deal. Speaking through the Deputy Spokesperson of the State Department, Ms. Marie Harf, in Washington, DC, President Obama said that it would be a thing of joy for the American government if the federal government and members of the Boko Haram Sect turn in and maintain such a ceasefire.

Harf who confirmed that the ceasefire, if properly implemented by all the parties involved, would herald the return of peace to the northeast in Nigeria, noted that both parties should do everything to ensure that the ceasefire deal becomes a reality.
Her words:

“We confirm reports that a ceasefire has been announced and it appears to have been put into place. We would welcome that ceasefire, call on all parties both to implement and maintain such a ceasefire, and hope that such a ceasefire would herald the return of peace to the northeast. This is a region that has had far too little of that.

Teacher busted for having S*ex with 16-year-old student dozens of times (Photos)

A former gym teacher has been charged for allegedly having s*ex numerous times with a male student. Megan Mahoney, 24, was facing 30 counts of statutory r*ape after being arrested on Monday for incidents which took place over three months between Halloween last year and January 9, 2014.

Authorities said that Mahoney, a teacher at Moore Catholic High on Staten Island, had se*x with the 16-year-old boy multiple times - including at the school.

Ceasefire Collapses as Army fights back!

The Nigerian troops seem to have abandoned the ceasefire between the Federal Government and Boko Haram as they killed 25 insurgents in Damboa, Borno State on Sunday. Boko Haram was the first to abandon the ceasefire when it attacked two communities in Borno and Adamawa states.

Damboa was for several days in July under the control of the insurgents who killed some soldiers, including a Lieutenant Colonel. They had also hoisted their flag in the community which is only about 85 kilometres away from Maiduguri.

The military however succeeded in chasing them but on Sunday night, the terrorists staged a comeback but were overpowered by the “military during an exchange of gunfire.” Boko Haram had on Friday, the day the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal, Alex Badeh, announced the ceasefire, attacked Shafa and Sina in Borno and Adamawa states.

Nigeria could host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations if Morocco pull out of staging the continent’s biggest football showpiece due to fears over the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease, according to Seyi Akinwunmi, vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation.

While the north African country is mauling over the decision whether to pass up the opportunity to host the tournament, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has already written to a few countries including Ghana and Egypt to ask if they can host the Cup of Nations. Morocco asked CAF to postpone the tournament to a later date instead of its present January/February schedule but the governing body is not ready to.

Nigeria could throw her hat in the ring to stage the tournament despite fears of the possibility of teams from Ebola-ravaged countries qualifying for the competition and bringing along their supporters.

Robbers invade Church, Kill Pastor in Ogun (Graphic Photo)

A 60-year-old pastor, Mr. Joseph Adebo, has been killed by armed robbers who unleashed terror on residents of Oke Ela area in Ilaro, Ogun State.

According to The Punch Newspapers, the pastor was shot in the chest and his left arm by the robbers. It was further gathered that Adebo was pastor in charge of a Pentecostal church situated at Powerline, Oke Ela in Ilaro.

The robbery gang, whose number has yet to be ascertained, stormed the area around 3am of Saturday, October 4. They were said to have fired several gunshots into the air to scare the residents as they went from one apartment to the other, dispossessing residents of their valuables.

How Female European Diplomat Disgraced at Shopping Mall Abuja

According to CKN, the lady pictured above, drove an SUV with a diplomatic plate number into Next Shopping Mall Abuja last Saturday using the wrong entrance. Security men at the gate were nearly crushed by this woman. The Security men had insisted that she should do the right thing only for the lady to refuse exclaiming "your Nigeria brothers do it all the time".

Oscar Pistorius sentenced to 5 years in Prison

After being charged with manslaughter for the February 14th killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, Judge Thokozile Masipa today announced a punishment of 5 years imprisonment after finding him guilty. Pistorius was acquitted of murder and had testified during his murder trial that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder. The defence asked for a house arrest while the prosecution asked for 10-5 years

According to legal experts he may not spend all 5 years in prison as the commissioner of correctional services could convert the sentencing to community service at anytime they deem fit. He was calm through and after the sentencing and it's unsure if he would appeal. All the drama expected was absent. No words, no reactions as the judge handed the sentence.
