Apple confirmed that demand for the newly launched 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch 6 Plus ‘exceeds the initial pre-order supply and while a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October.’ On Apple’s U.S. website, the company says that if a customer orders an iPhone 6 now it will ship it in seven to 10 business days, but shipments of the 6 Plus will not go out for about three to four weeks.

800 Nigerian Soldiers Escaped Death As Boko Haram Ambushes Kogi
A security source said on Monday that the soldiers were men of the 322 Artillery Battalion, and the Fourth Brigade Garrison, Ekeunwa, Benin in Edo State.
The PUNCH learnt that the 850 soldiers were expected to give fillip to the ongoing counter-terrorism operation in Borno and Adamawa states on completion of the counter- insurgency course.
Our source said there were suspicions that the attackers were insurgents because of the intensity of the gunfire directed at the vans conveying the soldiers from both sides of the road.

South Africa Probes 2 Nigerians Over Smuggled $9.3million
Adrian Lackay, spokesperson for the SA Revenue Service (Sars), confirmed that customs officers became suspicious when the passengers’ luggage was unloaded and put through the scanners just after 7pm. The officers then investigated and found three suitcases full of cash.
The passengers apparently told officials they were acting on behalf of the Nigerian intelligence service and provided documentation confirming they had come to South Africa to buy weapons. It is not clear whether the Israeli passenger was an intelligence operative or an arms dealer. Continue...
