Just In: Obasanjo’s Son Shot By Boko Haram Men Today (Photo)

According to report reaching UpdatingNaija, Boko Haram militants attacked a platoon led by the son of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, shooting him today. He sustained serious injuries to his legs and was being transported to the hospital at the time of this report.

Adeboye Obasanjo, an army engineer, was a Lieutenant Colonel at the 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State. He and his platoon were engaged with Boko Haram militants at Baza, which is the village of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3rd division when the incident took place.

The Lieutenant Agwu of the 234 battalion, GOC of the 3rd Division, Major Gen JS Zaruwa and Colonel Victor Ebhaleme who serves as the Brigade Commander of the 23rd Army brigade in Yola were all together advancing towards Michika when Boko Haram fighters unleashed the deadly attack on the soldiers.

Over 50 Boko Haram members killed as Nigerian troops raid terrorist hideout in Kawuri

Over 50 men of the insurgency group, Boko Haram, were yesterday September 7th  killed after Nigerian troops raided the sect members hideout in Kwauri, Borno state. This is according to a statement by the Nigerian military.

Items recovered from them includes Fabricated Artillery gun, Two Anti-aircraft gun, an armored vehicle and assorted types of ammunition. Food items, hardware, personal clothing were destroyed during the gun battle. One officer and two soldiers were seriously injured.

Pray for My Wife – Pastor Chris Finally Opens Up in Church

Indeed all is not well. Pastor Christian Oyakhilome has finally addressed the allegations levelled against him after more than a week of maintaining silence on the divorce suit filed against him by his wife. New Experimental Ebola Vaccine Gives Monkeys 10 Month Immunity

Vaccinated monkeys have developed "long-term" immunity to the Ebola virus, raising a prospect of successful human trials, say scientists. The experiments by the US National Institutes of Health showed immunity could last at least 10 months. Human trials of the vaccine started this week in the US and will extend to the UK and Africa.

The World Health Organization says more than 2,000 people have now died in the outbreak in West Africa. Several experimental treatments are now being considered to help contain the spread of Ebola.

Ebola: Lagos Volunteers Threaten to Strike over Lack of Payment!

Dozens of volunteers at the Infectious Disease Hospital, IDH, of the Yaba Mainland Hospital, Lagos, where patients down with Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, are receiving treatment have threatened to stop reporting to their duty posts over non-payment of their emoluments by the Nigerian government.

PREMIUMTIMES investigations revealed that the volunteers are being owed over two weeks of their daily entitlements by government.

On Friday morning, two patients were still in the hospital’s isolation ward – a clergyman who had prayed for Iyke Enemuo, the Rivers State-based medical doctor who died of the virus; and Dr. Enemuo’s wife who had contracted the virus.

Boko Haram takes over Michika town in Adamawa state!

According to SaharaReporters, the sect men arrived the town today September 7th, chased out Nigerian troops and hoisted their flag in the town. This is coming three days after the militants seized Gulak town. Residents in the town say the Nigerian military flew over the area but did not attack the sect men.

Soldiers from the 23 Brigade in Yola, Adamawa state, are said to have been mobilized to prevent the sect men from taking over Mubi, a key city which is some kilometers away from Michika.
