"Earlier this week while her class was on the playground at school, AvaLynn was attacked by another child. She was kicked repeatedly in the face until she fell off the slide. The teachers claim to have not seen anything.

If this is true, then why in the world was someone not in a position where they could have stopped this assault once it began? It's obvious by the photos that much more than a single kick was required to cause such damage. If it is not true, then why would the teachers not speak up so that the child responsible can be punished, and the victim be protected?

FG Signs Deal With Brazilian Company To Build N144b Power Plant In Bayelsa

The Federal Government and Benco Energy Limited of Brazil yesterday signed a N144 billion Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, to construct a 700 megawatts power plant in Nigeria.

The President of Benco Energy Limited, Brazil, Mr. Rodrigo Badew, said at the MoU signing ceremony that the plant which will be gas and vapour fired will be built in Bayelsa State.
He added that the plant will have a construction period of three years.

According to him, “it is a 700MW plant although it can reduce to 688MW because this depends on location and environmental conditions. The investment is around $800 to $900m.

My dear people of Rivers State, we woke up this morning to the sad confirmation that the dreaded Ebola virus disease has claimed its first victim in Rivers State.

Dr. Iyke Sam Enemuo died last Friday, August 22, 2014 as a result of what was suspected to be ebola virus disease. The State Ministry of Health on becoming aware of the conditions of his death, immediately commenced investigations and contact tracing. As at today, about one hundred contacts from a hotel, patients of Dr. Enemuo and patients of the hospital where the late Enemuo was treated until his demise have been identified and restricted. False Alarm over Ebola at Lagos Airport

There was anxiety yesterday at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos after an alarm was raised that a passenger arriving the airport from Enugu had the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

TheNation reports that passengers were soaked in tension and anxiety when the aircraft carrying the suspected victim, a lady, arrived Lagos from Enugu at about 2pm. The aircraft was given a medical emergency landing and clearance following a call the airline received from Enugu that one of the passengers on board the flight has been infected with the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease.

Boko Haram Turns Police College to Training Camp – Survivor

The police college overrun by Boko Haram sect over a week ago has been converted into the base of the terrorist group, according to the Director, Catholic Social Communications, Maiduguri Diocese of the Catholic Church, Gideon Obasogie, who narrated the account of a survivor to Saturday PUNCH on Friday.
The clergyman in both telephone chat and e-mail to Punch, said:

How Nigerian Diplomat, Olu Koye, Took Ebola to Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samson Parker, has explained how the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease got to Port Harcourt. During a press conference in Port Harcourt on Friday evening, the commissioner revealed that the late Dr. Samuel Enemou, who treated Olu Koye, a Nigerian diplomat with the Economic Community of West African States, was aware that the diplomat was a carrier of the deadly Ebola virus.

The Federal Government, Friday, assured Nigerians that they will start enjoying steady supply of electricity by October 2014 as plans have been put in place to ensure this. Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo, who briefed State House Correspondents in Abuja said government has made efforts to ensure constant availability of gas at power stations to boost power generation. Nebo, who spoke after a meeting on power stakeholders at the presidential villa, Abuja, chaired by Vice President Namadi Sambo, added that the debt owed power generation companies would also be cleared.

“The generation companies have been complaining that they need to have all their bills paid. The good thing about this is that arrangements are being made to make sure that all the generation companies get their money as at when due.
