First WHO-Deployed Health Worker Tests Positive For Ebola
A WHO-deployed health care worker has tested positive for Ebola; first time this has ever happened. The health worker, a man from Senegal, is in Sierra Leone and receiving care, the WHO said. No further details were given immediately. When asked how the worker contracted the virus, a WHO spokesperson said officials don't yet know all the details.

Boko Haram has released a new video. And in it, Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram, says he has created an Islamic caliphate in northeast Nigeria town, Gwoza town, seized by the insurgents earlier this month.
The new video was obtained by AFP today. According to Abubakar, Boko Haram sect is now completely in control of the town as Nigerian soldiers have been unable to displace the militants who only last week overcame police officers at the police academy in the town, causing them to flee.

Government Shuts Olabisi Onabanjo University To Maintain Peace
The Ogun state government has ordered the immediate and indefinite closure of the state owned university, Olabisi Onabanjo university, Ago Iwoye to forestall breakdown of law and order. The government also advised all parents whose wards are students of the university to immediately call them to order as the government will not tolerate any act that will disturb the peace being enjoyed by the people of the state.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to State Government, Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa, the decision to close the university was taken in the overall interest of peace and order as the students of the university have continued to issue threats while rejecting all entreaties and concessions made by the government on their various demands concerning the recently announced reduction of school fees.

Finally!!! Nigerian Doctors Suspend Strike
The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) have suspended their seven week old strike. The good news was announced today Sunday 24 via the NMA’s official Twitter handle @nmanigeria.

Sierra Leone To Jail Families Who Hides Ebola Patients
Sierra Leone’s parliament has passed a new law making it a criminal offence to hide Ebola patients by loved ones. Anyone caught hiding a patient faces up to two years in prison, the justice minister said. Even though Sierra Leone has closed all its land borders, it has recorded the highest death rate so far in the world ever since the Ebola outbreak. At least 1,427 have died of the deadly disease and many have also tested positive.

Ebola: British National test positive in Sierra Leone as Ivory Coast closes its border
A British national residing in Sierra Leone has tested positive to the deadly Ebora virus. According to a statement released by the British Department of Health, medical experts were assessing the situation 'to ensure that appropriate care is delivered". The statement also added that Consular assistance is being provided to the Briton. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the Department of Health, Professor John Watson said;
"The overall risk to the public in the UK continues to be very low. Medical experts are currently assessing the situation in Sierra Leone to ensure that appropriate care is provided. We have robust, well-developed and well-tested NHS systems for managing unusual infectious diseases when they arise, supported by a wide range of experts."
