Miss MacDonald was powerless to prevent a collision after he stepped on to the track in front of her on one of Britain's most scenic rail routes. Mr Wells died instantly as he was hit by the train. Crisis rocking the Move­ment for the Actuali­sation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) took a new twist yesterday as four people were feared dead. US doctor who contracted Ebola to be discharged from hospital today

The American doctor Dr Kent Brantly, who contracted the deadly Ebola virus in Liberia while working as a missionary in the country will be released from Atlanta's Emory University Hospital today August 21st after being successful treated.

According to the spokesperson of the hospital, Vince Dollard, Dr. Kent's blood samples came back negative for the virus after undergoing proper screening for two days. Dr. Kent is expected to give a statement regarding his discharge later today at a news conference before leaving the hospital.

Chibok Girls: Britain To Send Three Fighter Jets

It has been almost 130 days since the abduction of the Chibok school girls, kidnapped by Boko Haram on April 14 in Borno State, and there have been concerns that the girls would not be rescued as, it’s reported, the FG is slow in ensuring the release of the girls.

However, Britain has come to Nigeria’s aid in the rescue mission as the country’s Royal Air Force plans to send three fighter jets to help in locating the girls. A polar bear believed to be the last in Africa has died recently following the death of his long term mate. TimesLive, made it known that the bear, Wang died while he was being nursed by chief veterinarian Dr Brett Gardener due to liver and heart failure.

Doctors Were Not Sacked - Chukwu

Health Minister, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, has denied that the federal government ever ordered the sacking of 16,000 resident doctors working in federal government owned hospitals nationwide. While briefing State House correspondents yesterday in Abuja after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, the minister explained that the need to sack people who have not been at their duty posts for nearly two months was never an issue. “People that have not been at their duty posts for nearly two months cannot cry for being sacked,” he said.

This statement however, contradicted a letter signed by the permanent secretary, Mr. L. Awute on August 13 communicating the president’s directive that all resident doctors at federal hospitals should be relieved of their duties.

Ebola: FG Approves N200m For Lagos; U.S Govt Donates 30 Body Scanners

The Federal Government has approved the release of N200 million to the Lagos State government towards assisting it in the campaign to curb the spread of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.

Fiancé of late nurse who died of Ebola, Obi Ejelonu, admitted to hospital with suspected case!

According to Sahara Reporters, the fiancé of Obi Ejelonu, the nurse who died of the Ebola virus after being infected by Patrick Sawyer, is suspected to have contracted the Ebola virus from his late fiance.

The suspected patient, whose name was given simply as "Dennis", allegedly suffered from a high fever three days ago but said he had recovered, SR reports. He's since been admitted in the hospital. A new blood test has been ordered, with results expected as soon as tomorrow.
