The registration data of registrants in 129 existing polling units in Ika South local government area of Delta State has been wiped out by virus. People who came out to collect their permanent voter’s cards were left disappointed as they could not gain access.

While speaking on the development, the President of Agbor Progressive Initiative, Mr Williams Eghebi alleged that:

Ebola: Nano Silver fails health requirements - Health Minister

The U.S already warned that experimental drug Nanosilver is a pesticide...and now Nigerian Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu says the drug, developed by a Nigerian in diaspora, has failed health requirements and will not be used on Ebola patients in Nigeria.

The minister said this today August 18th while receiving the US Ambassador, Mr James Entwistle, in his office in Abuja.

"The experimental drug, Nano Silver did not meet the requirements of the National Health Research Ethics Code. Accordingly, the approval was withheld by the National Health Research Ethics Committee,” Chukwu said.

Ebola Scare: Cameroon Closes Borders, Suspends Flights From Nigeria

Following the fears of spread of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) through international air and seaports, including border land outposts of Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS) in the Northeast sub-region of country, Cameroon has closed its borders with Nigeria and suspended all flights to and from Nigeria, Vanguard reports.

The spokesman of Cameroon Foreign Affairs, Chiroumma Boukkari said the decision to close the borders with Nigeria has become inevitable, because of the fears of the ebola that spreads like wild fire in the West African sub-region.

1 Dead & 9 Injured In Lagos Boat Explosion

Over the weekend, at least one person died and nine others were left injured when a boat in which they were travelling in exploded around Walter Carrington Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to Sun News, the boat which belongs to Aquitien Oil and Gas Limited is said to have departed from Lekki and was heading towards Apapa before it exploded, trapping all 10 persons on board. The body of the deceased identified as Emmanuel Onu has allegedly been recovered, while efforts were said to be ongoing to recover the bodies of other victims.

The news publication states there are conflicting reports on the actual number of casualties, however; police officers in Lagos maintain that only one person died. Continue...

Ebola: Nigeria clears 61 people monitored for possible infection

Sixty-one people placed under observation by the Nigerian authorities for possible Ebola infection have been cleared and are not at risk of contracting the disease. The 61 persons were cleared after 21 days since they had primary or secondary contact with the index case, Patrick Sawyer who died of Ebola in Lagos.

Lagos State Governor, Babtunde Fashola, disclosed this during a broadcast to the people of the state on the level of preparedness and efforts taken by the government to curtail the spread of the virus in the state.  Read the full statement after the cut...
