Iyanya's manager, Ubi Franklin was involved in a car accident hours of this morning and currently in the hospital. He shared photos from the accident and explained what happened. 

In Every situation Give Thanks. I had a few friends who were celebrating Birthdays last nite and in was invited to party with them at a Club on Victoria Island. I got into the car and was so tired to Drive so one of my friends Drove, on our way back I saw a friend I haven't seen in a while at another club trying to park I stopped to say hi and we entered the second club after a few minutes I decided to leave, right outside the club is a shawarma spot I got some and then I and my friends were headed Home and I was trying to eat my sharwama while my friend drove us home. That's the Last I could remember. I found myself covered with Airbags and I came out of that car that tumbled and a good Samaritan took us to the Hospital. Couple Arrested, Accused Of Stealing From MH370 Victims

Kuala Lumpur (dpa/NAN) – Malaysian police said a bank employee and her husband had been detained over withdrawals of $31,000 from four bank accounts of passengers of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. Izany Abdul-Ghany, Chief of Police in the Commercial Crime Investigation Department, said this in Kuala Lumpur on Friday. He said the funds from the accounts of three passengers on the missing airliner were apparently transferred to a fourth account owned by another passenger.

“Based on initial investigation, money from the accounts of three passengers on the missing airliner were transferred to a fourth account owned by another passenger.

OAU to Resume August 24

Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun was closed On the 18th of June after students violently protested the increase in tuition fees and will resume activities on August 24. At the time, the management said it was shutting down indefinitely and that students should evacuate the premises within 24 hours. On Friday, the Public Relations Officer Abiodun Olarewaju said the tertiary institution would be reopened from Sunday 24th August 2014.

“Following the closure of the university on June 18, 2014, the Senate of the university again reconvened on Friday, August 15, 2014, to announce the re-opening of the university. Gov Fashola commissions newly built Tejuosho market

Lagos state Governor, Raji Fashola today August 15th commissioned the newly refurbished Tejuosho market in Yaba Lagos, 7 years after the old market structure was completely gutted by fire. The refurbished market, which used to have 1,484 lockup, has been increased to 2,640.

Facilities in the new market complex includes banking spaces, 8 lifts to enable goods, services and people move up, two escalators for up and down movement of people, two ramps designed to assist physically handicapped people to get into and out of the building and a crèche where nursing mothers can attend to and keep their children while they are trading.

There is also a dedicated Fire Service Station within the complex with fire fighting systems built in the market to forestall any incident of fire disaster as well as a dedicated 800-vehicle capacity car-park unit. More photos after the cut...

Ebola: US Says Made-In-Nigeria Experimental Drugs Is A Pesticide

The Nigerian Minister of Health Onyebuchi Chukwu said yesterday, 14th August, that an unnamed Nigerian scientist provided an experimental drug to combat the Ebola virus. At the press conference, Chukwu announced the latest development. He also said the product would be used to treat infected victims.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has aired concerns over the safety of the experimental drug. Erica Jefferson, a spokeswoman for the chief U.S. regulatory body, said that she could not provide any information about the product. She also did not call it by its name.

According to Vanguard, it has been used as an antibacterial for centuries. Tiny silver particles known as nano-silver have controversially been incorporated into a variety of consumer products such as socks and bedding to help block odors caused by bacteria and mold. Continue...
