Ebola: 7 Month Old Baby in Kwara Feared to Have Contracted the Virus

A 7-month-old baby in Kwara is feared to have contracted Ebola Virus. The Kwara State Chairman of Ebola Viral Disease Control Committee, Sunday Opabola revealed the news, Punch reports. However, he emphasized that presently, it is just a suspected case. It has not yet been confirmed that the baby has Ebola.

The child was said to be exhibiting “Ebola-like” symptoms, however; those symptoms are also seen with people who have malaria, cholera, lassa fever, and other similar ailments.

According to reports, the child was initially showing signs of malaria. But after receiving treatment for two days and showing no signs of improvement, he was taken to a private paediatric hospital. Continue...

NMA rejects sack of 16 thousand medical doctors

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has rejected the sack of resident doctors by the Federal Govt which happened on Wednesday August 13th. At a press briefing today in Abuja, the president of the NMA, Dr Kayode Obembe asked the federal government to withdraw its circular on the sack of the resident doctors and also reverse the directive

"NMA demands immediate withdrawal of the suspension circular and unconditional reinstatement of the so-called sacked resident doctors. Government should show commitment on her part in resolving the current impasse with the NMA rather than resorting to punitive measures that will only further aggravate the already deplorable situation. NMA condemns in totality the alleged presidential directive via the Federal Ministry of Health suspending Residency Training Programme in Nigeria,” the NMA President added. Continue...

Finally!! Phone Of The New Apple’s iPhone 6 Emerge

TMZ has obtained possible pictures of Apple‘s brand spanking new iPhone 6!..Acording to source, the phone was smuggled out of a Foxconn factory in China where the majority of iPhone models are manufactured. The owner of the phone says the smuggler is his friend, an ex-employee who worked in Foxconn’s hardware department designing the outer casing for the new model.

As for the inner workings, we’re told it’s not running an authentic Apple IOS, which is SOP during the development stage for security purposes. Also, the new phone is noticeably lighter and appears to have a new sensor on the front … though it’s unclear for what. The official Apple unveiling is allegedly set for next month.

In spite of her claims, Ciara indeed gave an extended interview with an Us reporter at an L.A. event on Tuesday, Aug. 12. During the chat, she spoke at length about her fashion, her fitness routines, her music, her upcoming MTV House of Style episode and being a brand-new mom to baby boy Future Zahir Wilburn, among other topics. 

As it happens, Ciara is also newly single. As Us exclusively revealed Wednesday morning, she recently broke up with her infant son's father, rapper Future, after learning of his infidelity. (The pair had been engaged since October of last year.)

Mystery: £20k cash is withdrawn from accounts of 4 passengers on missing Malaysian plane

Five months after Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared, it's now being reported that, more than £20,000 has been withdrawn from bank accounts of four passengers aboard the missing flight. The mysterious withdrawals were reported by a bank in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 18. The Assistant Commissioner to the crime investigation department Izany Abdul Ghany told the mirror.

'We are investigating the case as unauthorised access with intent to commit an offence, We are getting CCTV footage from the bank to identify the suspects involved.'

The transactions were made on July 18 when money from the accounts of three passengers was transferred to the account of a fourth passenger before it was removed.

OOU Students Destroys Properties; Protest Over Tuition Fees (photos)

Students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) are currently protesting in the state, demanding a reduction in their school fees. Ago – Iwoye, in their thousands have seized the entrance to the Oke – Mosan Governor’s Office, demanding 50 percent reduction in their tuition fee. They are insisting they will not leave until the governor, who is said to be on his way to his office, addresses them.

The students were reportedly shot at and tear-gassed by soldiers this morning as they marched to the Governors office. After being tear-gassed, angry students started destroying public property. Bad Guys Caught After Raping A Pastor's Daughter

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested four robbers who stole two cars from a pastor and went ahead to rape his daughter. The pastor reported that on July 21st, 15-minutes before 12am, the four armed men pictured above came into his house. At gun point, they ordered everyone to lie down while they stole.

FIFA reinstates Maigari as NFF Chairman

World football governing body, FIFA, today Thursday August 14th ordered the re-instatement of impeached Aminu Maigari as president of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF.

The directive, which was conveyed in an email signed by the Deputy Secretary General of FIFA, Markus Kattner and sent to the NFF Secretary General Musa Amadu, stated that the NFF leadership must remain as status quo prior to the World cup in Brazil.

Mr Maigari was on July 24th impeached from office after a vote of no confidence was passed by some members of the NFF board. This will be the second time FIFA will be using its power to reinstate Maigari. With this new directive, Maigari and all his 13 board members earlier suspended will return to office until August 26th when a fresh election will take place.
