Disturbing video shows how Boko Haram men beheaded Nigerian Air Force officer

Sahara Reporters today shared a disturbing video which showed a Nigerian Naval officer identified as Umar Abubakar being interrogated and later gruesomely murdered by Boko Haram men in Borno state. The sect men then paraded with his head in a jubilant display.

The victim, who was extensively interrogated before his gruesome killing, identified himself as Umar Abubakar, disclosing that he was a member of Section 9 of the Nigerian armed forces engaged in counter-insurgency measures against Boko Haram.

In the video clip, the insurgents asked their victim to state his monthly pay to which he replied N40,000. He also disclosed that his commanding officer was a 2nd lieutenant. The insurgents displayed their victim's identity card, chanting that the world should know that Allah had given them an enemy.

42-year- old Mother Fights 17-Year-old Daughter over Boyfriend In Delta State!

A 42-year- old housewife in Asaba, Delta State, simply identified as Monica (surname withheld) on Sunday threw caution to the wind when she engaged her 17 year-old daughter in a fight for allegedly snatching her boyfriend. Eyewitness said that a scene was created around St. Brigid’s Girls College, Asaba, Sunday afternoon after both of them exchanged blows. As both of them engaged themselves in a fight, motorists on the popular busy road stopped to watch what one of them described as a show of shame. Eyewitness further said that the mother was alleged to have snatched the daughter’s boyfriend, who works in one of the oil companies in Warri. President Jonathan Finally Meets With Parents Of Abducted Chibok Girls!

A meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and parents of the over 200 girls abducted from their school’s dormitory in Chibok, Borno State, is ongoing in the Presidential Villa under very strict security. Fifty-one of the girls who escaped from the terrorist group, Boko Haram, were on Tuesday morning brought to the presidential villa alongside the parents of those still in the camp of the Boko Haram.

Channels Television’s correspondent, Chukwuma Onuekwusi, says security is tight at the venue of the meeting and that not even the State House correspondents were allowed to cover the closed-door meeting. Four of the brand new buses for the Abuja Urban Mass Transit were used to convey the girls and their parents from their hotel to the venue of the long expected meeting.

Journalists and security personnel watched as the girls and their parents, one after the other, beginning with the school principal, alighted from the buses. 'Why We Closed Markets, Hotels, Others In Abuja'– Army Reveals!

The Nigerian Army has explained that some hotels and markets in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, were shut down because they failed to put in place counter-Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, measures.

Following the deadly bombing of the popular Banex Plaza Abuja, which claimed scores of lives and damaged property, security agencies in the FCT directed business concerns, plazas, markets and shopping centres to put in place measures to counter such attacks in the future. Confirming the development, Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Olajide Laleye, said:

“The Nigerian Army conducted a vulnerability survey of the Federal Capital Territory and asked certain high risk spots to emplace a series of counter-IED measures.
“They refused and, as such, they have been shut until they comply. You will notice that Banex and Emab Plazas have complied and are opened.
“Hotels, markets, recreation centres and worship places are included”, the army spokesman added.

"I knew he liked me from when I was in the University of Ife but I was young and he was so accomplished so I was kind of worried. After I left Ife and went to do my NYSC in Kaduna state, Dr Biodunjeyifo came to visit me and said Kongi (Prof Wole Soyinka) had been looking for me. Some of Nigerian MTN ambassadors including Davido, Praiz, Harry Song and Kcee were in South Africa over the weekend for Nelson Mandela day in Johannesburg. The music stars were joined by established South African stars including Mafikizolo and Uhuru. The superstars performed for free at MTN live stream concert.

“Mandela loved dance and music, it brought out the bubbly and fun side of the great man that is respected at large by the world. Today we celebrate his fun character,” Mafikizolo said
