The artist formerly known as P. Diddy has plenty of other ventures, including a deal with Diageo’s Ciroc that entitles him to eight-figure annual payouts and a nine-figure windfall of the brand is ever sold.

The California-bred superproducer leapfrogs Jay Z on this year’s list, fueled by the runaway success of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, which he cofounded with record executive Jimmy Iovine in 2008.

With a whopping 65% market share of the premium headphone market and a recent $500 million infusion from Carlyle Group, Beats' value is soaring toward $2 billion.

293 declare missing as South Korea ferry carrying students sinks

293 people, mostly students who were on a high school trip, are missing after a ferry capsized & sank in dense fog off South Korea's coast last night, local media reports. A South Korean government spokesman told reporters this morning that there had been 459 people on board the ferry, including 325 students, 15 teachers, 89 other passengers and a crew of 30.

So far 164 people have been rescued, three confirmed dead, while hundreds are still unaccounted for. One rescued passenger told The Associated Press he believed that many people had been trapped inside the ship when it sank.The ferry had been traveling to the southern tourist island of Jeju when it sank just three hours from it's destination. 15 out of the 103 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram men escape

According to reports, 15 out of the 100+ girls kidnapped Monday night by Boko Haram men, at Girls Government School, Chibok, Borno state, have escaped. The girls were said to have made their escape when one of the lorries used in transporting them broke down along the road. The girls jumped down from the lorry and ran into the bush around them. One of the girls who fled told AFP that they escaped when the men were trying to fix the vehicle.
"They tried to fix it. It was at this moment that some of us jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the bush". Continue...

A 19-Year-Old Pakistani Arrested At Lagos Airport With N228 Heroin

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 19‑year‑old Pakistani, Iftikihar Muhammed Arslan, for attempting to smuggle 25 parcels of heroin into the country. The suspect, who claimed to be a student of Punjab College in Pakistan, was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, by the operatives when the illicit drug was discovered in his luggage during inward screening of passengers on board a Qatar airline flight. Preliminary investigation has shown that the suspect left Lahore, Pakistan with the drugs to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, then Doha, in Qatar, from where he connected to Lagos. He is believed to be working for a Pakistani drug cartel.

Spokesman of the agency, Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju, who described the incident as the single largest seizure of heroin at the Lagos airport since January, said the NDLEA commander at the Lagos Airport, Mr. Hamza Umar, found the 25 parcels of brownish substance that tested positive for heroin hidden in a smaller bag inside the suspect’s luggage. Ofoyeju said the suspect was cooperating with the agency’s team of investigators. Meantime, Arslan, who speaks English fluently, confessed how he got the drugs after this cut...
