Lagos Ranked 2nd Fastest Growing City In Africa & 4th Worst Place To Live In The World

Lagos has been ranked 4th on the list of world’s worst cities to live.
According to an independent economic advisory group named Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU, Lagos shares 137th position with the city of Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.
Port Moresby & Lagos scored 38.9 % in the ranking.

According to the report released on Thursday August 29, 2013, Lagos was described as 2nd fastest growing city in Africa and the 4th worst city to live in the world.

“Rapid growth is not always a good thing because Lagos is now a magnet for two perpetual threats to peace: pirates and Islamist warriors.Boko Haram have a problem with cities like Lagos and also lots of weaponry. Pirates threaten trade and use kidnapping as a method of funding. Islamist terrorist groups such as Boko Haram (“Education is forbidden”) want to create their own version of heaven on earth by destroying cities such as Lagos and imposing strict sharia law. Lagos has enormous potential but as yet little to show for it – hence its poor ranking,” the report said.
Economist Intelligence Unit claims Lagos has a long way to go economically, socially and politically before joining the emerging market club.

LAGOS—Lagos is the fourth worst city in the world, Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU, an independent forecasting and advisory business within the Economist Group has said.

And its top worst cities, are scattered around Africa and Asia. Lagos, the fourth on the list, shares its 137 position with Port Moresby, in Papua New Guinea on 38.9 per cent.
The report made available yesterday described it as the second-fastest growing city in Africa and the fourth worst city on earth.

Several notable Nigerians and key members of Apostle Anselm church took Nigerian culture to Kenya yesterday.

Nigeria’s representatives in the just concluded Big Brother Africa reality TV show, Beverly Osu and Melvin Oduah were presented to the media at the Protea Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos last Thursday after their triumphant return to the country. 


The two ex-housemates recounted their personal experiences in the Big Brother House.

Beverly was the first to put the record straight , as she denied having sex in the House with her South African counterpart, Angelo. She however, confirmed that her relationship with Angelo was real.

I don’t believe I was cheated during the grand finale. Housemates from West Africa were not only united but, we dominated the House. Whoever won the show really deserved to win. The arrest took place on August 17, the execution took place in public three days later. According to the indictment the women filmed themselves having sex and then sold the videos in China. Some South Korean sources claim that there were many Christians among those sentenced to death who had a Bible at home, a “crime” that you can pay for with your life or imprisonment in a state gulag in North Korea.

19 year old Osun State Polytechnic student bathes boyfriend with hot water

A 19 year old female student of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) Department of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) has been arrested for allegedly pouring hot water on her boyfriend shortly after his birthday at Miracle Hall, BHS area in Iree last Saturday.
According to a report by Daily Trust, the attacker Yetunde poured the hot water on Niyi Adelana (pictured above) because he invited other girls to his party and flirted with them right in front of her

Niyi, a Higher National Diploma (HND) II student of Computer Science, suffered serious burns and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State, DSP Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident in a chat with Daily Trust. She said investigation was still going on and that upon completion, the girl would be charged to court.

Inspector General of Romance: Police IG MD Abubakar Set To Remarry In September

 Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar is set to remarry about a year after he lost his wife, Maryam Abubakar, to cancer in January 2012.
The IGP will be engaging in a three-day wedding ritual to a popular 35 year-old Safiya according to sources close to the Mr. Abubakar. The wedding proper will take place on September 14, 2013.

Suntai's Wife Dissolves Taraba State Cabinet, But Acting Governor Says Cabinet Intact (Updated]

The brain-damaged governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai, has reportedly dissolved his entire cabinet shortly after the Attorney General of the state, Barrister Timothy Gibon Kataps, outlined “reasons” the governor does not need to appear before the House of Assembly before resuming power.  The bizarre statement came 72 hours after Suntai returned to the state from the United States in a carefully choreographed scam.

But a source in the camp of the Acting governor, Alhaji Garba Umar, told SaharaReporters that the cabinet dissolution by Mr. Suntai's wife carries no effect, and urged all Tarabans to disregard it and go about their normal duties.

The severity of Governor Danbaba Suntai’s brain damage became obvious to the leadership of the Taraba State House of Assembly who visited him today, two of the legislators have told SaharaReporters.
A surprise invitation was extended to the lawmakers to meet Mr. Suntai after a group of state legislators threatened to commence the ailing governor’s impeachment. One of the lawmakers who saw Mr. Suntai said the sudden invitation was designed to placate lawmakers.

The delegation of lawmakers was led by the speaker of the Taraba State Assembly, Haruna Tsokwa. Our sources revealed that the legislators met Mr. Suntai who was seated on a couch struggling to speak some words to the delegates. They disclosed that Mr. Suntai did not recognize any of the lawmakers. His speech was characterized as garbled, confused and mostly inaudible, according to one source. He added that, at one point, the brain-injured governor managed to say that one of them was his “big deputy.” The person he referred to then told Mr. Suntai that he was not his deputy.
