What makes a good actor?

His ability to connect with any audience – whether it’s on TV, on stage or on radio. Any medium that he’s interpreting a role, it is his ability to connect to the audience, to the listener. Once you make the connection, that’s it!

What don’t you like about being an actor?

Nothing really! Nothing! I like everything about being an actor. I haven’t seen a downside about it. Maybe you cannot separate what I don’t like from how present day society relates with the actor. But I think even all that perception is changing. So, it’s that earlier perception of when we just came out of school, where you cannot be compared to your class mates who went into banking or went into advertising. That era has passed. Today, they all want to be like us. So, there’s nothing I hate about acting.

Prof. Wole Soyinka Diagnosed of Cancer

Prof. Wole Soyinka has been diagnosed of cancer. Soyinka who announced this at a press conference which held at the June 12 Cultural Center in Ogun State says he was diagnosed of the disease last December. Soyinka said he decided to open up so as to create awareness about cancer disease and to help people take measures to prevent it or seek prompt medical attention for cure.

He added that he survived the silent killer disease because of early detection, treatment and proper dieting, adding that it has also dawned on him that the family has a history of cancer ailment.

Although he did not reveal the nature of the cancer which has been attributed to old age, his son, Dr. Olaokun Soyinka, who is the Commissioner for Health in Ogun State, told The Nation that his father was treated for “prostate cancer.”

More Details On Bomb Blast : 54 Admitted, 14 Critically Injured – Borno Government

Borno State government has disclosed that 54 victims of Tuesday’s market blast in Maiduguri were admitted at the state Specialist Hospital. The government said 14 people were critically injured in the incident, while 20 have been discharged from hospital. The Executive Secretary, Hospital Management Board, Dr. Salisu Kwaya Bura, told Governor Kashim Shettima during his visit to the victims at the hospital in Maiduguri.        

He said; “14 critically injured victims have been referred to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) for proper treatment, while 20 have been discharged.”

The Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Sandar, also stated that 24 bodies were brought to the hospital.
But hospital sources disclosed that the casualty figure was higher as some bodies were shattered beyond recognition. The distraught Governor Shettima described the bombers as “wicked,” wondering “why they picked poor traders and children as targets.”

Write Boko Haram to stop attacks, CAN President Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor tells Sultan of Sokoto

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has called on the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, to write a letter to members of Boko Haram to stop their attacks.

Pastor Oritsejafor made the call yesterday at a 2-day meeting in Abuja with Senior Special Assistants on Religious Affairs to all state governors.

“His Eminence said he wrote a letter to ISIS, I have to truly congratulate you for that because that was a very good move. I didn’t know about it until today and I am so glad it happened. But I want to appeal that you also write to Boko Haram because Boko Haram is worst than ISIS.

How 2 Female Bombers Killed 30 In Maiduguri Market

Two female suicide bombers today detonated explosives at the popular Monday market in Maiduguri killing over 30 persons. Eyewitnesses said the two teenage girls simply walked into the One-way area of Maiduguri’s main market at about 11:20am and one of them blew herself up killing about three women.

The witnesses added that when sympathizers gathered to watch the scene, the second girl who was also heavily wired with explosives screamed and then the device hidden under her garment blew up killing about 30 persons.
