Calamity! Train Crushes Man Preparing For Daughters Wedding

A retired staff of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) at Agbado Station in Ogun State simply identified as Peters was on Thursday crushed to death by a passenger train. According to an eyewitness the deceased fell in the median of two coaches, an incident which has become regular on the rail track in Lagos, according to NAN reports.

The deceased who was reportedly preparing for his daughter’s wedding coming up on Nov. 1 was employed by the corporation on casual basis as a ticket checker after his formal retirement from the NRC. The witness said that the deceased fell while trying to move from one coach to the other to check passengers’ tickets.

NAN reports that the mutilated body of the deceased was covered with cellophane and put in a corner of the station as at the time of this report.

Synagogue collapsed building Has No approval – Commissioner

The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Toyin Ayinde has said that the collapsed Synagogue Church of All Nations guest house was illegal. Ayinde disclosed this at the Coroner hearing on the incident in Lagos on Thursday.

He said no approval was given for the building while the main church currently has additional three illegal floors. Ayinde said from the CCTV footage shown to him by the church, he noticed the building fell symmetrically.

23-Yr-old Nigerian Girl Dies In Bangkok While Having £2,000 Buttocks Enlargement Surgery

Joy Williams, 23, from Thamesmead, was described as a 'caring and funny' girl who was 'loved by everybody. She died on October 23 after travelling to Bangkok to have £2,000 buttock augmentation surgery.

Speaking yesterday from his home in Lagos, Nigeria, Miss Williams's older brother Anietie, 28, said he had been looking forward to her visiting him in Nigeria this Christmas.

He said: 'We don't really know what went wrong, we only know what is in reports in the media. 'She was a very nice and caring person. 'She brought joy to people's lives.
'She was a beautiful girl, loved by everybody. We will miss her so much.'

He added that the family were still making preparations to bring Miss Williams's body home and that his brother was planning to fly to Thailand and return to London with it.

32year Old Man Commits Suicide Over N1,000 Theft

A 32-year-old man, Mr. Simon Mbam, of Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has committed suicide after he was tortured by some villagers for allegedly stealing N1,000 from a shop in the market.The victim, who jumped into a pond in the area last weekend, found himself in the mess when he left his house in the evening of the fateful day to buy drinks with his friends.

While late Simon and his friends were busy sipping their drinks, the owner of the shop raised an alarm over a missing N1,000 in his carton of drinks, but no customer admitted to haven taken the money. The alarm raised by the shop owner attracted villagers who stormed the scene and gave the suspects till the following day to return the money or face the consequences.

It was learned that the said missing money was found at the door step of the shop, but when the villagers who were determined to get to the root of the matter gathered, the owner of the shop insisted on knowing the person behind the act.

Sad! Health of boy attacked by dogs worsens, doctors abandon him

The 4 year-old boy, Omonigho Abraham who was attacked by two dogs in the Igando area of Lagos State about a month ago, is now battling for life at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja. Punch newspaper reports that his health is getting worse as no Doctor or consultant has attended to him in days now.

His father, Odia, disclosed that  “My boy still complains of pains in different parts of his body. Also, when they open the bandage on his head, you will see that there is no much difference. It’s still like the first time the incident happened.

“In fact, for up to two weeks no consultant or doctor attended to him, and his head started smelling.
“We have been told he may still have to be admitted for six months or up to one year, for the doctors to do a skin-grafting surgery on his open skull. They will cut skin from parts of his body, to cover up the skull. I have also continued to foot the bills of the boy, despite the instruction of the state government to the hospital management not to collect any money for his expenses."

Boko Haram Takes Over Military Headquaters and the 2nd Biggest Town in Adamawa

Fighting between Nigerian troops and Boko Haram insurgents escalated in Mubi, Mararaba Mubi and Uba all in Adamawa State on Wednesday.

Mubi, the second largest town in the state and host of two high institutions, was the worst hit.

A parent, Ahmad Sajoh, whose daughter is studying at the Adamawa State University, said that as of 2pm on Wednesday, the police barracks in the Government Reservation Area was overrun by the insurgents while the prison in the town was blown open.

According to Sahara Reporters, the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents took over the headquarters of the 234 battalion in the town.

The situation is so bad that banks are on the run, moving their cash to the state capital, Yola.
Sources say Boko Haram decided to launch a massive attack on Uba in the Michika-Madagali area of the state in response to sustained aerial bombardment of their hideouts by security forces...
